I'm sad

We were driving back here and on the road, at the yard of one of the new houses there was this dog just laying there.

I told my husband that it looked dead and we turned around after a block and stopped in front of the dog. Cards were passing by but the dog was just laying there. Finally i started calling it and it moved an ear and it opened up its eyes. but it looked so tired and it is all skin and bones so we drove home (around the block) and I grabbed water, Tushi’s bag of food, and a couple of plates. We went back and I got out to give it water. The thing didn't move, it wagged its tail but it looked like it was just too tired.

It didn’t drink any water either. I served him food and even had some on my hand. He smelled it and licked one but spit it out, then he licked my hand and finally sat up. It is nothing but a skeleton. Maybe a car hit it or something since it looks like one of its legs was hurting. My husband told me to just fill the bowls very well to the top and we came back home. We were thinking we could bring him but what if it dies? I don't know. I feel bad.

Husband said that if it's still there tomorrow we might call the animal shelter. This dog doesn’t' even have a collar.

When we first returned to look at him, across from it were several kids playing and an older person looking over the kids. I asked the lady if she knew the dog or if she'd seen it around and she said no so then we came home and I picked up the food and water. When we returned to feed the dog the lady and kids weren't there anymore. That's just sad. The dog was right across from them and they didn’t even give him water.

Your local animal control number may be able to help it, if it is still helpable.

That's so sad =(

When my husband drove by this morning when going to work, he said the dog was no longer there but that the food was as I had left it. When I drove by, another doggie was eating it. Another dog without a collar... at least the food was eaten. We hope the dog got picked up by someone.

People can be so uncaring sometimes. What a poor example for those kids (the elderly lady not showing some form of kindness)

:(
