Best show ever

I've watched it sooooo many times. Husband kept asking why I liked it so much and one day, about 3 months ago (before I started consulting for the museum) he was home on a day off and he watched one episode with me and he was all into it asking me questions so that he could better understand what the characters were talking about (DS9 episodes are sequential, as opposed to stand-alone as with other ST shows). I asked him, 'Right it's an interesting show?'and he nodded his head and kept watching. Gotta save enough money to just buy all the seasons to add to my personal collection. :D

On a work note: things are great! Just very busy. :D But it’s cool.

That's the reason i didn't like DS9 as much. I missed 1 episode and i didn't know what was going on for the rest of the whole damn season >_<

It's one we'd like to add to our DVD collection as well. I always thought DS9 was really the best of all the ST shows.

The Original is where it's at.

I agree with Wendy, it’s the best of all series. It has so much more meat in the episodes; characters (including guest characters) make sense, they have meaning and add to the overall story... they aren’t just some pretty alien with whom the cap or 1st officer get to have fun.

And Karnov! You missed one episode and you totally couldn’t follow the series anymore?! You are exaggerating, probably just had to watch a few more to catch on again. The first time I watched DS9 it was by coincidence. It was around midnight and a school night but I couldn’t sleep so I was flipping channels and suddenly caught glimpse of this gorgeous, gorgeous man (Alexander Siddig aka Dr. Julian Bashir) and I stayed watching it, recognizing the uniform motif. I loved it! Then every night I was staying up just to watch the series - yes these were re-runs, I started watching re-runs of season 3. I’d miss several when I was too tired from school but I could pick it up pretty well when I returned to the series. I never got to watch the last 2 seasons until about a year ago when I noticed Spike TV was showing DS9 every morning. OHMEEGOSH! Cardassians rule! So totally in love with Damar (Casey Biggs). A completely 1-dimensional nazi-like tug of a character suddenly turns into this great hero that just makes the general audience switch from Cardi-haters (though I always found the evil Cardassians quite appealing) to Cardi-lovers (or at least to sympathize with them). Writers did wonders with so many secondary characters and the story just flowed nicely.

However, I do like soap operas so maybe that is why it is easy to catch up even if I haven’t seen much of the series or miss episodes.

Not to mention Damar was a depressed alcoholic, too. Ended up to be the new leader of Cardassia.

I just liked TNG the best, well, TOS too. Mostly because of the way you can watch them out of order.

That is one of the things turning me off of Lost now. too sequential.

He stopped drinking when he led his people to freedom... then he dies.

:p That sucked, but it's alright.

Well, seems I like sequential shows. I like to see characters develop in that way.
