Senior Citizens Dance

My gradma invited me to a dance that was taking place at the adult day care center she attends. She does not live there, but she does go daily from 8am til 3pm and there she gets breakfast, lunch, a snack, as well as does diverse crafts. There are all type of senior citizens in there, some that need special care because they are ill, others that go for the company of others. Overall a very nice environment.

... and damn! Those old people dance!

They had a live band - over here the music of choice is Tejano - and a dance contest. The band would play a song and then give a few minutes breathers for the seniors and then play again. Some of the older guys there had their canes and could barely walk but when the music would start they’d dance like nothing... then they would sit down all out of breath and tired. Music started and up they went again. It reminded me of Master Joda when it fought against the Sith and was twirling and doing back flips all over the place, then the fight ended and it reached for its cane and walked as if he was arthritis ridden. *giggle*

It was cute and I got to check out some moves that I didn’t know.

I may just go to her events a little more and learn to dance.

OH MY OH MY OH MY!

My prints have arrived!

I had mentioned some time ago to Lore that I wanted to purchase my prints but was saving enough money to buy the best of them all at once and perhaps save a bit on shipping. Well, deal done and set!

I purchased 9 prints: 2-20x30s, 2-17x20s, 1-10x15, 1-8x10, and 3-4x6s. The 4x6s are postcard size, and are advertised as postcards, but they really aren’t. The paper is not hard stock, but rather like a 4x6 photograph paper. The print quality; however, is excellent. It was well worth my $185 bucks. The photographs here are a little shiny because of the frame and glass... plus my flash. But the real color is crisp and vibrant!

The smaller prints

I am so excited and can’t wait to show them off; however, I need more money... Must print more!

Resolution 2006

Yeah, yeah. So I am late with this... *shrug* But I've been busy!

Anyway, a new year. Another, yey! Two-thousand and five went fine with just its minor aches and headaches. I met new people, gained new friends, strengthen bonds with the ones I had. All that was great! Health-wise we were all fine, just perhaps my grandma and my husband’s mom both got a little worse in their mobility; my grandma due to a stroke she had a couple of years back from which she hasn’t been able to recuperate full mobility on one side. My mother-in-law from a spinal operation and apparently osteoporosis that has also affected one leg making it painful to move about. I hope they get better or at least not any worse this year.

No weight lost, well I did at one point before the holidays but gained it all back and I think a little more. But as usual, no biggie, it wasn’t a resolution.

Last year my resolution was to Pamper myself at least once a month. Didn’t do it much. Only about 4 or 5 times and it was mostly just to get my haircuts. :p

Anyway this year’s resolution is:

I shall drink at least one glass of water each day.

I drank too little water last year, getting my intake from mostly milk, club sodas, and other carbonated ones. I simply do not like plain water. It’s got to change. I’ve heard of one too many stories of kidney stones on people younger than myself and the pain they’ve described isn’t something I would like to go through.

Gifts from the season: Laptop carrying case, shoes, memorabilia earrings, dresses, wooden boxes to keep my beads, novels and home decoration books, a hand-made table arrangement, and beading charts!
